Equality Bill

Structured Learning were delighted and proud to have been appointed as one of a very few writers by the Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).

Our role was to write guidance for employers and employees on the new Equality Act.  The aim was to provide a quick, practical and easy to follow summary of what organisations need to know and do when the Act comes into force.

We focused particularly on legal issues to do with grievance, discipline, harassment, dismissal, redundancy and retirement. All issues of direct and daily importance to every employer.

Our guidance will be published on the EHRC website

It was an exciting and testing project and we look forward to seeing the final result when the Bill finally comes in – probably in October 2010.

Local Government Chronicle’s Top PAs & Secretaries Annual Conference

Thursday 25th February 2010

We are proud to announce that once again we have been asked to provide a keynote session at this prestigious national conference. Following on from our sessions on Time Management in 2008 and Effective Communication and Negotiation in 2009, this year we will be considering the question ‘Why are you different from me? – understanding working styles.’ Amongst other things we’ll consider:

  • How everyone works in differently and has their preferred ways of doing things - and how understanding these differences is key to working together effectively
  • Different working styles - What are they?
  • What are the positives and the challenges of working with difference?
  • Improving working relationships – adjusting to different styles.

If this is a session you’d like to know more holding about for your own company please contact us.

Atlas - the future's bright, the kit's orange

Atlas FC walked out on their home ground on Sunday March 29 2009 in their brand new kit - courtesy of their sponsors Structured Learning Ltd. Over 20 years old, Atlas FC strives to uphold a strong tradition of family values and fair play. Based in Stockport, Atlas have always enjoyed the healthy competition and challenge of their local District Sunday League. But their kit was looking decidedly worn, so they were delighted when we offered to sponsor a new one. Now, smart in orange and black, the team are feeling on top of the world - and hope soon to be top of their league. Clare Forrest, Structured Learning's Director, said 'Atlas are passionate about training and winning - which is what we're all about - so it's a great partnership. We're looking forward to Atlas going from strength to strength and wish Jack and his lads lots of luck'.
